a little late

I know this is a little late, but I have been so busy! I am not sure what exactly is keeping me busy, maybe this 5 month old who is rolling over and starting to slither across the floor, but it sure has kept me from posting none the less. I am pretty mad at myself, I totally didn't take pictures on Christmas eve! I got in the car and on the drive I realized the camera was at the house. Leah wore this darling outfit that Chanel and Drew bought her, and I have not one picture in it! I think I have an angry friend, Chanel I promise to re-create it tomorrow when I am packing for the big trip!

Chanel and I had a cookie cook date last week, it was fantastic! I am not a baker, I am trying to be, but not really. Lee and I were in shock when Chanel, also not a baker, came over totally prepared, at least 50 cookie cutters and we were ready with dough and candies to decorate!

Lee looked on with excitement knowing that Aunt Chanel would probably try to give her a taste of a cookie.
She is known for this!

Later, we got a package in the mail from Aunt Yoli, it was perfect timing! She send the most beautiful little outfits! Way too stylish, hey she is from New York, it is all about the style! Lee got a Juicy outfit with pants that say Juicy on the butt and a adorable Guess outfit that is equally adorable! On top of Lee's new fashions, she sent a snowglobe that was engraved with her name. I cried a little, it was so beautiful! Lee loved it too, she tried to eat it which means she likes it. Thanks Aunt Yoli ;)

More to come tomorrow, big packing day! We are going on our first family vacation! What do I pack?

under the weather

My little Lee is under the weather today. She has a cough and a stuffy nose. I totally think slippers make you feel better, warm feet are a good thing.
She got up this morning around 5, better than yesterday at 4, and she took a nice warm vapor bath. She smells like peppermint and eucalyptus! We are going to make some sugar cookies when she gets up from her nap and then... we might get crazy and take a long walk and maybe another nap, who knows, the day is ours :)

I love the leggings... look at those things!

Is it me or does she have that ladybug button nose just like her toy???

too excited

I was too excited to wait until Christmas to give Lee her new exer-saucer... she loves it! Every time she turns around, she sees a new toy! She huffs and blows a rasberry because she is so excited! Even with a cold (her 1st icky cold) she is smiley and excited to play. It just amazes me that she is standing in this thing! Look at those tootsies, I love her little sausage feet.

Not too sure what that turtle thing does, I tried to take it off and inspect it for batteries or something, but it just sits there.

All I want for christmas....

All I can say is... she is so cute! I know I am bias, but Lee was the cutest wittle bug at Santa's house! We went to see Santa at Gulf Coast Towne Center, they did an amazing job! They even had reindeer footrpints leading up to Santa's house. The other babies in front of us were crying as they sat on Santa's lap, but not my bug, she grabbed his beard and smiled the whole time!

5 months, 29 years, and a brunch

Lee is offically 5 months old! Actually, 5 months and 6 days today. I think the ladybug pillow is getting too small for my bug, she is getting so big!
I love those blue eyes!

easily distracted

I am oficially 29 years old! I think I am going to be 29 and HOLDING from now on. Next year, at my birthday, when asked how old I am, I will say, "29." That is it.

Aging gracefully
Lee had a blast, maybe a little too much fun, she passed out at the table.

Aunt Jacky totally forgot my birthday. She won't admit it, but yup, she did. She felt bad so she brought me flowers. I think that is an admission of guilt.

FINALLY! Vinny doesn't look like the ass, tonight it was Uncle Mike :) HA
Aunt Chanel and Uncle Drew
they are too cute!

On Sunday, Ellen invited us to brunch at her clubhouse. Mmmmm... eggs benedict, french toast, eggs, and bacon. We all ate our weight in bacon. Leah got passed around the table and ate all the napkins while we enjoyed our bacon. I love that kid.

attempt 12, success!

Gerber makes a mean jar of pears! I admit, this really is like attempt 12 or 13, we have been successful with her eating real food for over 2 weeks, but I just forgot to take pictures of it! I think the real key was the high chair, she likes sitting up and we give Lee her own spoon to hold onto so she doesn't grab mine away. Thus far we have tried: green beans, pears, applesauce, bananas, butternut squash, and sweet potatos. She didn't care for the applesauce that much, but she really likes the green beans, so that is a good thing. Eating those veggies is important! She chews! I think it is hysterical when she chews the rice and pears, she is so grown up! (love her bib too, I am cool!)
Got the grump face on tonight.

Here is a little video of the chewing/eating action ;p

ciao! and some first time stuff

We drove down to Miami yesterday to visit Vin's cousins who were in from Italy. Vinny was so excited to see them and to have them meet Leah! They hadn't seen each other in about 9 years, since a wedding oh so many years ago. Anna and Antonio were amazing! We had so much fun! We arrived in about 2 hours, not too bad of a trip. When we got out of the car, Leah's eyes just connected with Anna, it was so great! Leah just stares at Anna while she spoke to her in Italian, like she totally knew what was being said! She probably did!
Anna is so cute, just so fun and happy! She said "bella mia" over and over, I think leah loved hearing that! This is Antonio and Vinny and a family friend named Leonard who lives in Miami. He has this cool house full of mid century modern furniture, it was so cool. I wish I would have taken some pictures of the house! He reminds me of my Uncle Johnny, a motorcycle riding, art collector who knows all the cool spots to go.

Leah has been standing on her own. Not totally on her own, of course, it is while against the couch, but we are still surprised that she can do it! However, this picture is slightly bittersweet, yes I got the picture, but when she heard the camera being put down, Lee let go of the couch and had a first. He bonked her head on the floor. There were tears from both of us, more from me believe it or not. Within a few minutes she was fine, ready to play and roll on...

Speaking of roll on:) Check out this trick!

Here's to firsts.
